Go Skateboarding Day!

Go Skateboarding Day (GSD) is an unofficial annual holiday declared by the International Association of Skateboard Companies (IASC) to promote skateboarding. It is usually marked on June 21.

This year GSD was held at Pustaka Negeri Sarawak (PNS) in conjunction with Health Walk 2009 organised by Dewan Bandaraya Kuching Utara (DBKU).

On that sunny Sunday, skateboarding demos were performed by some of the best skateboarders around Kuching including Mc Jagger, Feroz Khan, Alvin Gamar, Donald Gani, Giacharie Tipik, Asyraf Hardy, Alexander Sumbang, Brandon Joel, Bonny Girin, Jerry Ho and Jc Adrian.

“Skateboarding is not just a game but a healthy sport that challenge a person physically and mentally which really suits the theme today, Health Walk 2009," said Nizam, a PNS officer.

“I wanted to expose skateboarding to public because this sport has a big potential yet not much people knows about it," he also said.

Also held on that day was fishing competition, karaoke competition, art competition, car boot sales, paintball promotion booth by PGX and more.

  1. Hi folks, since this is a mass media project, I hope you don't mind if I help with the grammar:

    it should be
..a healthy sport that challenges a person..

people are countable so don't use "much" use "many"
yet not many people know about it
    (he knows, they know)

Also held on that day, were fishing, karaoke and art competitions etc
(not was, but were because it's more than one thing.)

    Hope you find this useful.
    Cheers
